Medasource is seeking a local contract Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a local contract job in Delray Beach, Florida. Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Nuclear Medicine Technologist Discipline : Allied Health Professional Start Date : 11 / 10 / 2025 Duration : 26 weeks 35 hours per week Shift : 7 hours, days Employment Type : Local Contract Minimum Requirements : Associate's Degree (Two years of college) or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) nuclear medicine technology program. Registered in Nuclear Medicine by either : Nuclear Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Minimum of two years of experience in nuclear medicine. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Must maintain active registry status. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications : College graduate or degree in nuclear medicine technology. Working Conditions : Position may require the ability to lift, push, pull or move patients and equipment in excess of 150 pounds, with or without the use of assistive devices. Job Responsibilities : Operates hospital and EMR systems as they relate to nuclear medicine. Demonstrates the ability and knowledge to correctly choose appropriate patient information from HIS systems in accordance with HIPPA regulations. Effectively assesses patient information and status and follows appropriate procedures. Checks patient name, date of birth and type of exam by asking patient to state the aforementioned. Responsible for performing, measuring, analyzing and supervising all aspects of nuclear cardiology testing as per FGP testing protocols Demonstrates knowledge of the organization’s Core Values and incorporates them into the performance of duties. Identifies problems and implements solutions prior to submission of studies for interpretation. Ensures proper documentation of all incidents or accidents and keeps an accurate log of equipment maintenance for all issues. Assists in maintaining accreditation standards. Maintains equipment for proper function and safety. Reports malfunctioning, damaged or missing equipment to management and appropriate service personnel. Performs and records all quality control procedures before, during and after testing, as per industry standard as it relates to equipment and performance of the appropriate tests. Informs physician of any changes in patient’s condition, vital signs, or urgent findings requiring escalation. Follows isolation precaution procedures as necessary. Follows accepted nuclear medicine procedures and uses medical information to determine the type of protocol required for the appropriate examination. Reviews patient chart to compare previous imaging or review other pertinent information. Prepares radiopharmaceutical dose using proper procedures for verification and dose calculations. Calculates activity remaining and activity needed for procedures, using dose calibrator. Adheres to all appropriate radiation control and radiopharmacy policies and procedures. Demonstrates a working knowledge of normal and abnormal cardiac anatomy, cardiac hemodynamics, electrophysiology as well as the major disease processes of the cardiovascular system. Performs, assesses and critiques the patient’s echocardiogram deciding what is necessary for a complete diagnostic study. Alerts the appropriate medical staff of abnormalities that require immediate attention. Is prepared to assist the cardiologist in the event of a cardiac emergency. Carries out assignment within a realistic time frame. Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates appropriate professionalism during job performance. Evaluates new patients and implements treatment plans and protocols according to current best practice and health system standards. Performs other duties as assigned.
