The Capital Accountant's responsibilities include supporting the management of controls over all capital expenditures through the purchase order process and assisting in the management of leases and insurance. This role will also play a strong role in the backup of fixed asset tracking and monitoring to ensure compliance with internal control audits for a rapidly growing manufacturing company.
Fixed Assets
Purchase Order Management
o Understand capital projects to analyze and ensure the validity and accuracy of purchase order requests
o Ensure purchase order coding is correct related to project number and capital expenses versus capital
o Enter purchase orders and utilize ERP system to track open purchase orders to eliminate the possibility of overspending
Act as the backup role for the Sr. Capital Accountant in managing the process for and entering new assets in the ERP system
Participate in ensuring compliance of fixed asset physicals for all plant assets
Assist in large project asset segregation initiatives
Leases
Understand lease accounting to support the lease reporting process
o Lease analysis and category designation
o Monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliation and reporting
o Ensure proper Chart of Authority adherence prior to lease execution
Risk Management - Insurance
Support the coordination and administration of Company's insurance policies with the Support of the Coca-Cola Risk Management Team
Prepare supporting information for renewal consideration
Manager the Certificate of Insurance request process
Other
Recommend process improvements and action plans
Perform other duties and participate in special projects as assigned
Skills / Qualifications Required
B.S. in Accounting / Finance
1-2 years of experience in Fixed Assets Accounting or related field required
Strong analytical, systems, and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
Highly curious and tolerant of ambiguity
Proficient in Microsoft products, database software and other applicable accounting software

Reports To : Sr. Manager, Capital Controls & Governance Accounting
Travel Requirements : 5-10%
