At Regions, the Data Management and Governance Manager serves as the primary point of responsibility, accountability and monitoring pertaining to the assessment, improvement, management, and governance of Bank Data.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develops, monitors, and promotes Data Standards, Tools, and Data Management and Data Governance best practices
- Ensures Data Assets are cataloged and available for appropriate use
- Promotes and maintains Metadata documentation and explanations as needed to meet the fit for purpose data requirements
- Develops processes to collect and maintain a current inventory of the information data assets available to IT and business partners
- Manages and maintains the documentation and resolution of data issues
- Reviews data quality issues, performs root cause analysis, recommends fixes, and / or reports timely any breaches of thresholds to Data Owners or Data Consumers, and escalates as needed to Enterprise Data Management (EDM)
- Manages, executes, and tracks data issue remediation plans in coordination with all stakeholders
- Promotes ongoing fit-for-purpose critical data information assets
- Demonstrates and maintains data lineage and flow for Critical Data Assets
- Monitors data health and quality requirements including the business rules and data movement validation controls
- Creates, tracks, and reports metrics for data health for stewarded application(s) or data assets (including developing evidence of compliance with data management standards)
- Collects and updates business metadata and reference data for data assigned
- Translates business rules into data quality rules for Critical Data Elements and produces data validation controls and measurements (in conjunction with Data Custodians)
- Ensures data and Metadata for all Enterprise Critical Data Elements (ECDEs) is provisioned in an appropriate authoritative source
- Supports applications and platforms to enable effective sharing of data from authoritative data sources; includes being an advocate and resource for collecting all Critical Data Assets into a shared data environment
- Manages a team of Data Governance Analyst(s)
- Serves as key liaison to System Administrators, Custodians, and Data Owners
- Serves as an active member of Data Councils, Data Management working groups and other teams as needed
Requirements
Bachelors degree and ten (10) years experience in Banking, Systems, Management, or related expertiseOr High School Diploma or GED and fifteen (15) years' experience in Banking, Systems, Management, or related expertisePreferences
Experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance, Information Governance, or Data ArchitectureKnowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Validations, Reference Data, and Master data management conceptsFamiliar with data quality reporting methodologies and capabilitiesExperience using banking applications such as internal loan, deposit, and customer systemsKnowledge of banking processes, procedures and controlsExperience with ETL tools such as InformaticaHands on Experience with Python, R, SAS, or other similar toolsData shaping and wrangling skillsExperience with Data Governance Tools for Data Cataloging and Metadata ManagementSkills and Competencies

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include : experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
Job Range Target
Minimum : $131,844.35 USD
50th Percentile : $168,140.00 USD
Incentive Pay Plans : This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary incentive plan. Employees are eligible to receive a discretionary award based on individual, business, and / or company performance. Opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.
