We are seeking a Mechanical Designer / Engineer for Mission Critical and Commercial building projects.

EXP, an award-winning international engineering firm, is looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer / Engineer. This role offers great exposure to our talented engineering staff in our Richmond, VA office.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Proficient with AutoCAD.
- Prepare and review calculations for loads.
- Thorough knowledge of codes.
- Edit specifications to reflect project requirements.
- Select and schedule equipment.
- Meet with vendors to determine specification requirements.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (MEP / FP, Architecture, Structural).
- Respond to RFIs and review submittals accurately.
- Apply risk management procedures daily to minimize risks and client exposure.
- Manage design process within work plan hours.
- Deliver appropriate documentation for SD, DD, CD levels.
- Work with project teams to meet project milestones.
- Edit and develop scope of work narratives.
- Provide existing project details relevant to designs.
- Mentor design staff and oversee responsibilities.
- Meet design and quality standards at a responsible charge level.
- Perform QA / QC reviews and provide guidance.
- Determine drawing and specification content to meet scope.
- Develop and monitor work plans with project managers.
- Review code compliance with designers.
- Manage work plans and deliverables within budgeted hours.
- Write studies and reports for systems.
- Develop sequences of operations for HVAC systems.
- Understand and apply concepts of hydronic, airside, and energy systems.
- Perform equipment selection and analysis.
- Understand total energy concepts.
What your experience looks like
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.EIT preferred.Minimum of 1 year of experience.Strong leadership and communication skills.Preferred experience in data centers, mission-critical, or telecom industries.Building design experience is required.J-18808-Ljbffr
