Boiler Operator

Job Summary

The Boiler Operator is responsible for the operation of the boiler and boiler processes.

Schedule : 2pm-12pm

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

• Starts boiler and shuts down boiler, does all safety checks before putting boiler on line.
• Knowledge of burning natural gas and #2 fuel oil.
• Monitors feed water, boiler water, water softener, and water treatment unit.
• Adds chemicals on a daily basis.
• Monitors cooling tower levels and flow, monitors air compressors and plant pressures.
• Performs daily greasing and oiling.
• Conducts fuel inventory; keeps area around fuel tanks clean.
• Assures equipment and work area is clean after each shift.
• Maintains safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out in a rendering facility which requires tolerance for wet and / or slippery floors, and high heat and / or cold temperatures.
