A leading healthcare provider in Oceanside, New York is seeking a Phlebotomist to join its laboratory team.
This is a confidential search for a high-impact role where you will perform vital blood collection procedures to support patient diagnosis and care.
Key Responsibilities
As a Phlebotomist, you will :
Safely obtain blood specimens from patients of all ages using proper venipuncture and collection techniques.
Follow established protocols to label, process, and prepare specimens for testing or transport.
Maintain accurate patient and specimen records within the electronic health system.
Provide exceptional patient care by ensuring comfort and explaining procedures clearly.
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to infection control standards at all times.
Assist laboratory staff with related tasks and support daily workflow as needed.
Walk and stand for extended periods and manage exposure to biohazardous materials.
Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or GED.
MediClear or equivalent credential required for consideration.
Experience : No previous phlebotomy experience necessary—training provided on site.
Must successfully complete an in-house orientation and demonstrate technical competency, including passing a written proficiency test, before drawing specimens independently.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.
Manual dexterity and attention to detail for accurate specimen collection and labeling.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a clinical team.
