OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY
The Community Support Advocate will work under the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) program to provide direct support and advocacy services to low-income individuals and families. This position aims to empower clients by connecting them with vital community resources, offering guidance, and helping them overcome barriers to achieve self-sufficiency. The objective is to foster a supportive environment that strengthens individuals and communities through education, outreach, and resource coordination.

Client Support :
- Helping individuals and families connect with essential services like housing, healthcare, and food assistance
Community Outreach :
Raising awareness about available resources and services to ensure the community knows where to find helpCase Management :
Tracking client progress, managing service plans, and following up to ensure clients receive the support they needCrisis Assistance :
Providing immediate support to clients in urgent or emergency situations, like homelessness or financial instabilityResource Coordination :
Connecting clients with local community resources and ensuring they receive proper referrals for continued assistanceData Management :
Keeping accurate records of client information and services provided and ensuring compliance with program guidelinesTeam Collaboration :
Working with other staff members, community partners, and organizations to support clientsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education / Background :
High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Social Work, Human Services, etc.) preferredAt least 1 year of experience in social services, case management, or community outreach preferred, but not requiredExperience working with low-income individuals or families is a plusValid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation (if applicable)Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Strong time management skills to meet established deadlinesStrong organizational skills and the ability to keep accurate recordsExperience using case management software is helpful but not requiredPIb1a6435eb1d9-30511-37449560
