Location : Irving, TX 75062 (4 Days Onsite / 1 Day Remote)

Duration : 6-Month Contract-to-Hire

Description :

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Oracle / SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with strong project management capabilities. This role is 80% focused on database administration and 20% on project coordination and execution. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle and SQL Server, with advanced knowledge of Oracle Data Guard being a strong plus.

You will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and performance tuning of mission-critical database systems. Additionally, you will support IT infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Serve as the primary DBA for Oracle and SQL Server environments.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Oracle PL / SQL procedures and scripts.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, including SQL profiling and index tuning.
  • Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Guard.
  • Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance with internal policies.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents.
  • Provide on-call support and perform maintenance during off-hours as needed.
  • Assist in planning and managing IT infrastructure projects, including timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Oracle databases on Linux and Windows.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Data Guard required (advanced level preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience with Exadata, RMAN, OEM, and Shell scripting.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting SQL Server databases.
  • Proven experience in project management or coordination roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
