Registered Nurse I - Outpatient Infusion

We offer a wide range of infusion treatments tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient, including : Infusion of blood and blood products Iron infusion Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) IV fluid administration Injections Chemotherapy Peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) Antibiotics Hydration Biologicals Reclast Solumedrol Responsibilities : Job Summary Assessment / reassessment - Systematically assesses / reassesses the health care needs of individuals; appropriate for specific age groups and patient conditions. Involves patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate. Nursing Diagnosis and Outcomes - Analyzes assessment to determine nursing diagnosis and expected outcomes, involving patient, family and other healthcare providers as appropriate. Implementation and Coordination of Care - Provides nursing care through interventions to achieve goals and needs using professional judgement guided by current practice standards, rules, regulations and policy. Evaluation and Discharge - Evaluates patient outcomes by utilizing the critical thinking process and evidence based knowledge to recognize problems, evaluate facts and reach sound conclusions. Takes responsibility for continued professional growth and development. Chemotherapy Infusion Specific Maintains professional working relationship with physicians to facilitate excellent patient care. Assists in the maintenance of logs (patient / medication fridge, crash cart). Qualifications : Education Diploma or Associate’s degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred. Must take and pass ONS chemotherapy and biotherapy course for chemo certification within 30 days. Experience Previous experience in acute care setting including IV insertion and infusion required. Previous chemo therapy experience preferred. (Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience). Licensure / Certification / Registration / Professional Designation ETC Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment. Complete basic chemotherapy certification within 30 days of hire and maintains through employment. Completes and maintains advanced chemotherapy certification within 3 months of hire.
