Security Officer

Performs general duty security work in Bismarck Event Center operations. Provides security to ensure a safe environment for patrons, promoters and Event Center staff.

Examples of Duties :

• Patrols assigned area on foot to regulate traffic, control crowds, prevent crime and responds to emergency calls to protect persons and property from crimes in progress, fires or other hazards; enforces all laws and ordinances under the provision of the North Dakota Century Code and Bismarck Code of Ordinances regarding the protection of life and property.
• Provide general security and report any inappropriate actions and safety hazards to Security Supervisor on duty.
• Visually search diaper bags, women's handbags, camera bags and individuals wearing long or bulky coats.
• Offer help to those people in need; handles awkward and stressful situations in a courteous manner.
• Performs other duties of a comparable level / type as required.

Minimum Qualifications :

Completion of high school and experience working with the general public.

Supplemental Information :

Ability to meet and greet the general public in a courteous and friendly manner and at times firm yet friendly. Ability to present oneself in a neat and orderly fashion at all times. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. Ability to analyze problems logically and choose effective solutions.
