Job Description

American Axle & Manufacturing has openings for Software Validation Engineers at its ATDC facility in Detroit, Michigan. Job duties include :

• Perform manual and automated software qualification tests on embedded systems using tools such as Vector CANoe ensuring conformance to AAM strategies, policies and procedures, and project level processes including ISO 26262, ISO 29119 and ASPICE
• Analyze and review requirements from IBM DNG, design and specify test plans and test cases on IBM ETM primarily for software functional requirements for electric power inverters and driveline actuator systems.
• Collaborate with hardware and software development groups for software issue analysis through test and debugging.
• Maintain test plans, test reports, result logs and provide detailed issue descriptions in IBM RTC, communicate changes and deviations, and maintain traceability and metrics.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives including test framework and process automation.

Required Skills and Education

Position requires : Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical and Electronics, Robotics and Autonomous Systems, or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or foreign equivalent education, and 1 year experience working in the software validation field in the position of Software Engineer, Validation Engineer, Robotics Validation Engineer, Software Quality Assurance Engineer or other Software Engineering position. 1 year experience is required in each of the following :
