Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Vice President to join our Global Trade team with a primary focus on Financial Institutions (FIs). This role will be responsible for providing innovative solutions for institutional clients with focus on banks, but also corporate, and government clients for monetary activities related to commerce and international trade including traditional trade finance, Supply Chain Finance, Trade Loan, Documentary Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit, Demand Guarantees and Documentary Collections. Originates and structures corporate lending transactions that facilitates the financing and risk mitigation of export or import transactions where goods and services are either bought or sold and markets the Bank’s full capabilities to clients worldwide. Also provides ongoing management of the lending portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Operate as a key member of the deal team with efforts to maximize sector penetration and returns.
  • Proactively identify and pursue cross-sell opportunities to increase client ranking.
  • Create pitch books for clients regarding financial solutions and participate in their presentation to clients.
  • Monitor client, client industry, and regulatory changes that may affect the client’s portfolio and business needs.
  • Initiate contact with partners for new client sales.
  • Prepare credit documentation (applications, memoranda, presentations, etc.) for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Structure and deliver innovative trade and working capital solutions tailored to FI client needs.
  • Review and continually monitor performance of existing accounts and client relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to diversify client portfolios and leverage key decision makers and influencers.
  • Understand client needs and provide relevant ideas and opinions to generate recommendations.
  • Collaborate with sector coverage partners to serve clients and prospects and to identify and deliver creative, timely solutions.
  • Provide deal structuring expertise and oversee delivery of pitches.
  • Obtain credit concurrence and coordinate pricing approval as client advocate.
  • Maintain ongoing client coverage and build positive client relations through deep understanding of client needs and alignment of products / services.
  • Interpret client strategy and anticipate needs to deliver solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and improved service; act as a change agent to drive performance.
  • Stay informed about firm products and services and assist in strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Complete due diligence and credit analysis on new and existing client relationships; understand transaction complexity and related risk.
  • Balance the Bank’s risk appetite with client needs in recommendations / proposals.
  • Develop financial models to analyze client portfolios and anticipate client needs; use analyses to identify cross-sell opportunities.
  • Review and guide work of Analysts and Associates to deliver results; ensure compliance with risk and controls policies.

Qualifications

  • Typically, between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience with post-secondary degree or equivalent experience; MBA, CFA or equivalent is a plus.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in negotiating and structuring financial transactions with corporate banking clients, including corporate lending experience.
  • Strong knowledge of lending and portfolio management policies; ability to manage multiple initiatives.
  • Demonstrates market knowledge to service clients and develop new solutions; strong presentation and product ideation skills.
  • Expertise in financial applications and database tools; ability to create and deliver professional ideas and presentations.
  • Fluency in English; Spanish and / or Portuguese preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and influence skills; data-driven decision making.
  • Salary and Benefits

    Base Salary : USD 120k-150k based on level and experience

    Pay Type : Salaried

Salaries will vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure.
