IT Project Manager (Public Sector)
PeerSource is recruiting for an IT Project Manager (Public Sector) on a Contract basis. This role is based out of Golden, CO.
Summary
We are seeking a versatile IT Project Manager / Business Analyst to lead complex technology initiatives from intake through delivery. This role requires strong project leadership and business analysis skills to drive instructional improvements, operational effectiveness, and alignment with organizational technology strategies. Extensive collaboration with internal departments, technical teams, and external vendors ensures successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Manage full project lifecycles including intake, prioritization, planning, execution, and transition to operations.
- Develop and maintain project artifacts such as charters, schedules, budgets, and resource plans aligned with organizational priorities.
- Convert business needs into actionable project plans across infrastructure, data, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications.
- Gather and document business requirements, evaluate workflows, and recommend scalable process and system enhancements.
- Support solution design, testing, deployment, and end-user readiness activities.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders; lead workshops and training sessions.
- Maintain visibility into project progress using Kanban boards, velocity metrics, dashboards, and risk / change controls.
- Informally mentor business analysts on best practices and project methodologies.
Required Skills
6+ years of combined experience in IT business analysis and project management, at least 3 of which focused on managing IT projects.Recent background supporting public sector / government-related IT projects (education industry preferred).Proven track record leading cross-functional, enterprise-level technology initiatives.Advanced knowledge of Agile and hybrid delivery models; familiarity with SAFe and ITIL frameworks preferred.Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, SDLC, enterprise applications, and change / release processes.Proficiency with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and collaboration tools.Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation (stand-ups, retrospectives, PI planning), and reporting capabilities.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).Preferred certifications : ITIL Foundation, PMI-PBA, IIBA ECBA / CBAP.Sponsorship
