Job Description
We're adding an additional member to our wonderful, long-term team. You'll be working with minimal supervision, uses both preliminary and developed design drawings to produce fabricated parts required for modeling of mechanical assemblies, prototypes, and test products. Duties will also include designing and fabricating lab testing equipment, tooling fixtures, and Quality inspection devices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interfaces with Production, Quality, Marketing, and Engineering personnel
- Maintains log of Work Requests, monitoring request and completion dates.
- Orders materials and tooling required to fabricate parts for Work Requests.
- Operates conventional and CNC lathe and mill in the fabrication of complex parts.
- Operates other conventional equipment, including grinders and band saw, to fabricate parts.
- Maintains all Model Shop equipment in good working order.
- Enforces Model Shop safety rules, including training and certification of other employees in the use of equipment.
- Uses all machinists hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma, or equivalent, with emphasis in math courses through basic trigonometric functions.Two (2) years Mastercam programming, One (1) year Computer drawing experienceMinimum of five (5) years as a journeyman machinist in a tool and die, or experimental machine shop.Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Capable of performing all shop mathematics.Must be able to read and interpret complex blueprints and Engineering sketches.Working knowledge of CNC and conventional lathe and mill equipment, including programming proficiency.Working knowledge of plumbing and electrical wiring practices.Experienced in Personal Computer, including Microsoft Word and Excel software.Capable of sitting, walking, bending, climbing, stooping, pushing, pulling and reaching on a consistent basis.Capable of lifting 30 lbs. on a consistent basis.
