POSITION SUMMARY

The TRIO Project Director provides leadership and oversight of the Student Support Services (SSS) program, ensuring full compliance with U.S. Department of Education regulations, Title V and Title IV of the Higher Education Act, and institutional and state policies. The Director manages program operations, fiscal accountability, staff leadership, and assessment to promote student success and retention.

This is a grant funded position through the Department of Education TRIO Grant # P042A250395 for the period of 9 / 1 / 2025 – 8 / 31 / 2030.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Stays abreast of U.S. Department of Education policies and grant terms / conditions to ensure the program operates in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; oversees the preparation and monitoring of fiscal and technical reports; reviews and approves all expenditures related to the program
• Complies with Title V, Title IV of the Higher Education Act, and District policies and regulations per the federal SSS and state funded programs.
• Convene SSS staff for regular meetings pertaining to workflow and caseloads
• Lead SSS staff in annual assessment of academic success skill development services (delivery methods, student usage rates, tools used in targeted interventions with students who are academically at risk, emerging resources, and successful practices)
• Develops methods to evaluate and monitor effectiveness of the program through posttests and the collection, compilation, and verification of project data; prepares progress reports related to program activities for the Department of Education and the college
• Develop and implement process for efficient and effective responses to faculty submitted academic alerts for SSS students
• Conduct outreach to at-risk SSS students identified through Academic Alert system
• Implement, refine, and monitor academic skill-building curriculum
• Monitor D / fail / withdraw (DFW) rate of SSS students
