Senior Lead Diesel Mechanic Location :
- Charlotte, NC (with travel to Kernersville, NC as needed) About the Role : Envirowaste Services Group is seeking an experienced Senior Lead Diesel Mechanic to take ownership of maintenance operations between our Charlotte and Kernersville locations.
- This role will serve as the bridge between both shops, ensuring equipment reliability, consistent maintenance standards, and mentoring of other mechanics.
- The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with 5–10 years of experience in diesel and heavy equipment repair.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead and perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel trucks, vacuum trucks, and related heavy equipment.Oversee shop operations at both the Charlotte and Kernersville locations, ensuring safety and performance standards are met.Coordinate workflow, assign tasks, and mentor junior mechanics to ensure timely and quality repairs.Maintain accurate service records, schedules, and inventory of parts and tools.Collaborate with management to identify recurring issues, recommend process improvements, and support fleet reliability initiatives.Conduct field diagnostics and emergency repairs when necessary.Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.Qualifications :
5–10 years of hands-on experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician (vacuum truck or municipal equipment experience preferred).Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical, and pneumatic systems.Proven ability to lead, train, and support a team of mechanics across multiple locations.Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).Ability to travel to Kernersville as needed.Why Envirowaste :
