Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details Location : Orangeburg, South Carolina 29118 Healthcare Setting : Medical Surgical Stepdown Unit (Acute Care Hospital) Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Start Date : November 18, 2025 End Date : February 17, 2026 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (18 : 45 - 07 : 15) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,470 - $1,570 Patient Ratio : 1 : 4 Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Float Requirement : May float to similar units within scope Charting System : Epic Scrub Color : Royal Blue Parking : Free on-site parking Registered Nurse Qualifications Active South Carolina RN license or Compact nursing license (required prior to start) Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Stepdown or acute care RN experience (2 years preferred) BLS and NIHSS certifications (required) ACLS and CPI certifications (preferred) Epic charting experience (required) Tele competency and Cardiac Telemetry experience (required) Previous charge nurse and community hospital experience (preferred) Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac / vasoactive drips (no titration) Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted) Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Cardiac Stepdown unit Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias Administer medications and manage cardiac / vasoactive drips per established protocols Perform central and peripheral line care, chest tube management, and wound care Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, and Pharmacy Float to similar units as needed to support hospital staffing needs Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Epic electronic health record system Follow infection control and isolation precautions Participate in emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November) Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
