Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is seeking an Entry Level Bridge Engineer to join our Richmond Office.

Responsibilities
- Utilize structural analysis software for design, such as Leap Bridge Concrete, Leap Bridge Steel, Open Bridge Modeler, STAAD, SAP2000, etc.
- Complete design tasks with supervision and learn to work independently
- Coordinate the structural design with other disciplines and construction team
- Become familiar with various structural standards and building codes such as AASHTO, AREMA, and UPRR / BNSF guidelines
- Compile data and perform calculations required for the preparation of drawings and design studies
- Prepare cost estimates
- Prepare construction documents
- Collaborate with Bridge and Rail Team and all company disciplines
- Conduct bridge inspections and assist in supervision of site investigations as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred0 to 2 years of experienceEIT certification preferredIntern experience preferredExperience with VDOT projects desirableExperience with MicroStation and / or Open Bridge Modeler desirableExperience with STAAD, SAP2000, or similar a plusExcellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)Availability and willingness to travelAll new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment background checkMoffatt & Nichol uses E-Verify and employment is contingent upon legal ability to work in the U.S.Benefits
