Responsibilities

Job Description

As Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and direction to our IT organization in support of the company’s IT asset landscape. You will Chair the Enterprise Architecture Committee (EAC) to review new initiatives with the EAC members during the early stages of new “INTAKE” projects. You will coordinate the meeting agenda and assess appropriateness for EAC review. You will also participate in the Architectural Review Board (ARB) to review and approve with Board members and ensure that projects adhere to the architectural standards and guidelines of Pattern’s ET Enterprise Architecture. The committee and board will ensure that IT infrastructure and technology platforms are optimized to support business processes and enterprise goals through effective governance and strategic planning. You will play a key role in onboarding new platforms and systems, integrating information and applications, and influencing IT organization direction in alignment with IT leadership and business objectives. In collaboration with the broader organization, you will recommend, develop, and maintain enterprise architecture models, standards, and technology services to drive our business forward. This will include development and ownership of a roadmap to minimize technical debt as the organization scales.

Key Accountabilities

Working closely with your Director, Enterprise Architecture, the role’s accountabilities include :

Architecture Governance

Ensure compliance with architectural standards and policies.

• Conduct Enterprise Architecture Committee (EAC) and Architecture Review Board (ARB) meetings
• Approval / reject of solution designs and enforce standards and processes
• Manage exceptions and waivers and committee / board agendas and notes

Architecture Development (ADM) / Lifecycle Management

Define current (as-is) and future (to-be) architectures and plan the roadmap.

Preliminary Phase : Define EA principles, scope, and governance

Architecture Planning & Road mapping

Partner with Product owners and data architects to align on multi-year technology needs and direction : aligning solutions to immediate business needs, ensuring the right technologies and solutions are built for scale.

Portfolio Rationalization & Optimization

Reduce technical debt and improve application portfolio efficiency.

Standards & Reference Architecture Management

Define reusable architecture components and patterns.

Change Impact Assessment & IT Change Governance

Evaluate and manage the impact of technology changes across the enterprise.

Innovation & Emerging Technology Analysis

Evaluate and promote emerging technologies aligned with business needs.

Enterprise Architecture Tooling & Repository Management

Participate in leadership role in maintaining a central source of truth for architecture artifacts i.e. SNOW or SharePoint : store models, roadmaps, reference architectures

Qualifications

Experience / Qualifications / Education Required

Education :

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field is required.

Experience :

Minimum 8–10 years of progressive IT experience , with 3+ years focused on architecture, design, or technology strategy across business, application, data, or infrastructure domains.

Skills & Competencies :

Solid understanding of architecture fundamentals , with hands-on experience in at least two domains : application, data, infrastructure, or integration.

Preferred :

Experience in portfolio / application rationalization , identifying technical debt, and recommending modernization strategies.
