Role : Barista / Busser

Reports to : General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Floor Manager and Wine Director
Position Summary
The Barista / Busser supports the front-of-house team by providing exceptional beverage service and maintaining the polished, timeless atmosphere that defines Golden Steer NYC. You’ll prepare and serve espresso, coffee, and non-alcoholic beverages to our exact standards while assisting servers in clearing tables, resetting stations, and maintaining a clean and organized dining room. This is a guest-facing, hands-on role that requires professionalism, attention to detail, and teamwork to deliver the Golden Steer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Coffee & Beverage Service : Prepare and serve espresso drinks, drip coffee, teas, and specialty beverages according to house recipes and presentation standards.
Guest Interaction : Greet guests warmly, provide menu guidance, and assist with non-alcoholic beverage recommendations.
Support Service Team : Assist servers by clearing and resetting tables, refilling waters, and maintaining service stations.
Cleanliness & Organization : Keep barista station and dining room areas spotless, stocked, and organized at all times.
Equipment Maintenance : Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment safely.
Team Collaboration : Work closely with servers, bartenders, and management to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Polish & Professionalism : Uphold Golden Steer standards of hospitality and presentation at all times.

Experience & Qualifications (Must-Haves)
1+ year of barista or support role experience in a high-volume café or restaurant.
Proficiency in espresso preparation, milk steaming, and latte art a plus.
Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail.
Positive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for hospitality.
Ability to stand and move quickly for extended periods.
English required; Spanish a plus.
Operations & Compliance
Follow NYC DOH sanitation and food safety standards.
Maintain proper labeling, storage, and cleaning of beverage and service equipment.
Teamwork & Culture
Arrive prepared, engaged, and ready to deliver excellence.
Communicate proactively with managers and teammates.
Represent Golden Steer with professionalism, warmth, and pride.
Physical & Scheduling Requirements
Stand and move quickly for 8–10 hours.
Lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
Mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays required.
Compensation & Benefits
