Salary range :

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 37B . The salary range for this position is $76,700-$89,000. "Off-scale salaries", i.e. a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.

Position description

Assistant Project Scientist (part-time, 50%) - Alexander Hoffmann Lab

The part-time (50%) Assistant Project Scientist candidate will lead a small team of student researchers to develop quantitative models and analysis tools of the humoral antibody response to vaccination.

Specific responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to :

• Develop analysis tools that interpret BCR repertoire sequencing data.
• Develop experimental tools for scRNAseq analysis of lymph nodes upon vaccination.
• Coordinate animal vaccine studies with collaborating laboratories, that include flow cytometry, scRNAseq, and spatial transcriptomics.
• Provide technical and scientific guidance to graduate students and undergraduate researchers in the B-cell team, for both experimental and the computational work.
• Assist with preparation of grant proposals.
• Preparation of manuscripts for publication in scientific journals.
