Travel Nursing Job Details Location : New Brunswick, NJ (Zip : 08901) – New Jersey healthcare jobs Unit : Cardio Thoracic Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Duration : 13-week contract Start Date : November 3, 2025 End Date : February 2, 2026 Shift : Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (07 : 00 - 19 : 30) Hours per Week : 36 Weekend / Holiday Coverage : Every other weekend & must be available to work 2 of 3 holidays On-Site Position Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2200-$2360 CVICU Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in CVICU or SICU with CVICU training Active New Jersey or Compact RN license required at time of application Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Stroke CEUs preferred Experience with Epic electronic health record system preferred Ability to float to all ICUs, PACU, ED for ICU holding, and IMC units Proficiency with fresh open heart procedures (CABG, MVR, AVR, TAVR), post-op cardiac recovery, Swan-Ganz, FloTrac, temp pacers, A-lines, ventilators, chest tubes, Impella, IABP, CRRT (Prismaflex), and related cardiac devices Charge nurse experience preferred Flexible to work assigned schedule (no block scheduling) Professional references required Registered Nurse Responsibilities Provide expert nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the CVICU, including fresh open heart and complex cardiac cases Assist with chest tube insertion / removal, BiPAP / CPAP management, and ventilator care Monitor and interpret 12-lead EKGs, arterial blood gases, and cardiac dysrhythmias Manage central lines, PICC lines, lumbar drains, and arterial lines Administer blood products, emergency medications, and titrate cardiac / vasoactive drips Operate advanced cardiac devices (Impella, IABP, LVAD / RVAD, CRRT) Float to other critical care units as needed, adapting to varying patient ratios and acuity Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response Maintain strict infection prevention and isolation protocols Participate in ongoing clinical training and complete required modules, including EPIC EHR training Ready to take the next step in your travel nursing career?
