Great Opportunity for an Ultrasonic Tester l

Our client has 4 Direct Hire openings in Bryan, Texas for Ultrasonic Tester.

Pay 22+ DOE

Responsibilities

  • Printout results of UT scan and prove-up when requested.
  • Maintain file of UT readouts.
  • Submit daily reports on pipe ultrasonically inspected.
  • Maintain housekeeping in the UT area.
  • Perform other functions assigned by Supervisor.
  • Operates conveyors to move pipes to and from UT unit.
  • Calibrates UT unit using Reference Standards.
  • Set UT and equipment for correct size.
  • Prepares UT for operation.
  • Ultrasonically inspects weld longitudinal seam.
  • Inspects seam to determine if pipe is acceptable under the applicable specification and code.
  • Uses ultrasonic unit to prove-up indications from the UT scanning operation.
  • Sends pipe to prove-up rack to substantiate UT findings which are not clearly indicated as passed or failed.
  • Prepare reports showing pipe numbers and all data applicable to UT of pipe.
  • Providing exceptional customer service to all customers, suppliers, and employees.
  • Staying positive and professional regardless of customer requests, complaints, or demeanor.
  • Complying with policies and procedures.
  • Interacting with other employees in a professional manner.
  • Communicating work progress and significant issues to the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, or Equivalency
  • 1 Year equivalent experience in related field or proof of training in an area related to the job assignment.
  • Reasonable knowledge of hand-held measuring devices, grinding, operation of thickness gauges and depth gauges.
  • Moderate to Advanced PC Skills in Microsoft Applications, i.e., MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow job and safety requirements.

  • The employee is required to be familiar with the company’s safety procedures and rules to perform the duties of this job according to general and departmental safety rules.
  • The employee must use the required personal protective equipment based on the job duties (refer to PPE matrix).
  • They must report immediately to the Manager any accident that involved another employee, a customer, a vendor, or themselves.
  • Employees must immediately report any unsafe act, condition, or equipment, cooperate with any accident investigations, and participate actively in training programs.
