Responsibilities Work on a general surgical unit within a hospital setting Patient population includes complex post-operative cases, new tracheostomies, complex wound care, and new ostomies Day shifts from 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 30 PM, three days per week Use of Epic EMR is required Collaboration with general surgical and OMFS residency services Provide post-operative care and complex wound management for surgical patients Monitor and care for new tracheostomies and manage wound vacs and new ostomies Works closely with surgical residents as part of the care team Requests for time off not to exceed 7 days during a 13-week contract Must live at least 50 miles away; local candidates will not be considered Assignments cannot be continuous at this facility for more than one year without a six-month break Requirements Active Illinois RN license required; temp license accepted Minimum one year of relevant Med / Surg nursing experience Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association Demonstrated Level 1 trauma experience Experience with Epic charting system Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-614894.
