The Children's Emergency departments, located in Minneapolis and St. Paul, are staffed 24 hours-a-day by board-eligible or board-certified pediatric emergency physicians and by nurses with specialized education in pediatric emergency medicine. Each facility is designed to support short-stay needs, coordinate pediatric and neonatal care transport, assault and abuse services, access to pediatric specialists, and emergency telephone consultation and referral. In addition, Child Life staff, trained in child development, help children prepare for procedures and deal with anxiety.
Emergency Medicine nurse practitioners require strong clinical and interpersonal skills while practicing alongside Pediatric Emergency physicians and within a multidisciplinary team at Childrens main campuses -Minneapolis and St Paul. Emergency Medicine PNPs provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, referral and health education as it relates to physical, emotional, spiritual, neurological, behavioral and / or psychiatric issues for infants and children.

Current MN RN / APRN license. Nationally Board Certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with either the Pediatric Nursing certification Board(PNCB) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Current BLS. Current PALS required with 3 months of hire
