Job Summary :
As an LPN, you play a direct role in saving the lives of our clients each day by serving our residents in a safe environment promoting long term recovery. All nurses participate in treatment team meetings and develop plans of care, administer medications and monitor effectiveness; other duties as assigned. Supervisory skills, common sense and a compassionate spirit are essential personality characteristics.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Record a patient’s medical history accurately
- Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
- Prepare and administers urinalysis (drug test) collections and facilitates their collection from the lab.
- Observe, detect, and monitor symptoms of withdrawal, providing client reassurance and support, ensuring appropriate follow-up and documentation in client files and Shift Report. This will include observation for physiological withdrawal symptoms.
- Assist the RN in triage of screening clients
- Communicate the medical needs of clients to the Director of Nursing
- Facilitate smooth flow of client / staff activity
- Participate in the intake process of presenting clients, and make admission determination with RN's direction
- Willingness to approach and participate in all aspects of client care with appropriate staff
- Perform routine rounds on all clients with timely interventions
- Follow nursing standards for client documentation, medications and usage, and assessment
- Actively participate in orientation, in-services, and continuing education
- Conduct client education to promote, motivate and encourage an ongoing recovery program or process
- Performs related work as assigned
Required License(s) / Certification(s) :
Licensed Practical Nurse credentialed from the State Board of Nursing in State in which site is located or licensed in a compact licensure state provides a multistate license that allows nurses to practice with patients across state lines.BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire dateEducation / Experience / Qualification :
Degree from an accredited school / college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.One year experience of professional work as an LPN is desirableFamiliarity with substance use, treatment modalities and detoxification protocols.Knowledge of chemically addicted, dual diagnosed (substance abuse / mental health) or psychiatrically ill clients with co-morbidity.Maintain continuing education requirements as required by licensing boardFull-time, Part-time, PER DIEM
