Your Mission

As a Senior QA Engineer, you’ll be the champion of quality and reliability across our products. This hands-on independent contributor role includes designing test strategies, building automation frameworks, and partnering with developers, product managers, and support teams to deliver a seamless experience for our residents.

Reporting to the QA Supervisor, you’ll embed quality into every stage of development by streamlining processes, expanding automation with AI, and applying practices that make the team more effective. The work you deliver will directly influence how our products perform for residents, raising reliability and strengthening the trust they place in us.

The assigned worksite for this role is our San Francisco headquarters, and in-office presence is required Monday through Thursday.

The Impact You’ll Drive

• Develop and maintain comprehensive test strategies and plans to ensure full coverage of complex features and systems, including creating, executing, and refining test scripts to safeguard product reliability.
• Identify, document, and manage software defects in Jira / GitHub with clear reproduction steps, prioritization, and risk context, ensuring timely communication and collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Support teams to drive resolution.
• Lead and expand automation efforts, designing, implementing, and maintaining front and back-end automated test suites to enhance reliability, improve delivery speed, and support modern engineering practices.
• Act as a QA representative in planning and execution, providing estimates, priorities, and risk assessments during sprint planning, triage, and major project meetings, while driving QA coverage and serving as the primary QA lead on significant projects or releases.
• Analyze metrics and implement process improvements to uncover trends, streamline QA workflows, shorten feedback loops, and enhance overall test effectiveness and engineering efficiency.
• Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing, including test plans, process documentation, onboarding materials, and leading quarterly knowledge-sharing sessions or demos to elevate QA expertise across the team.
• Mentor and support team members, fostering technical growth, promoting best practices, and building a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Leverage AI and modern tools to accelerate test automation, documentation, and workflows, sharing best practices to help the team effectively integrate AI into QA processes.

Pay Transparency Notice

Linden Lab’s Total Rewards philosophy is rooted in fairness, equity, and an unbiased approach to compensation, paired with competitive benefits across all locations where we operate.

For this San Francisco Bay Area-based role, the salary range is $124,000 - $168,000 , with a midpoint of $146,000 .

New hires start between the minimum and midpoint of the applicable geo-defined range, with final base pay determined by several factors, including experience, skills, competencies, internal equity, and market data calibration.

In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for awards under our Equity Incentive Plan (EIP) and a generous benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans. Our talent partners will provide more details during the hiring process.
