As a Lactation Consultant you will be educating and supporting new moms while they are an inpatient and will continue the support by calling patients within a month of discharge to ensure all of the patient's needs have been met. You will serve as an Educator / Consultant to nurses and other healthcare professionals within the Women's and Children service line when additional interventions are identified for the patient. Our unit handles over 1200 births per year and has 16 beds post partum rooms.

Position : Lactation Consultant

Shift : Day / Evening shift 24 hours per week rotational weekend and holiday requirement, based on need determined by Manager

Experience :

Minimum of 2 years' experience providing healthcare and / or education in Women's Health preferred.

Education :

1. Knowledge of fetal, newborn, and maternal anatomy / physiology.

2. Bachelor's Degree in related discipline preferred.

Licensures / Certifications :

1. Current RN License preferred OR a multi-state license verified in one of the approved states through the Nursing Licensure Compact.

2. Certification with the International Board Lactation Consultants Examiners required.

Requirements : This position requires you to wear a respirator as part of the job requirement.
