We are hiring for a Nocturnist position. A Nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.

Qualifications :

Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.

Board certified / eligible in family or internal medicine.

Active medical license or eligible to become licensed in Indiana.

Practice in the Heart of the Community

Flexible Scheduling :

This is a nocturnist position with an array of flexible scheduling options.

Key Responsibilities :

Serve as the solo clinician at night covering a 21-bed open ICU. We do not perform procedures, but we do run codes and rapids.

You will be admitting to the ICU but do consult with an intensivist. We also have specialty support that can be at the hospital within minutes if necessary.

As a nocturnist, it is important to understand that some nights can be hectic, and some nights are quiet. Generally, nights are very manageable and similar to a community hospital feel.

We work with Epic as our EMR system and would be cross credentialed at our sister location in Gary.

Located on the Indiana / Illinois border, just outside of the Chicagoland area, you will find the communities of Gary and Merrillville, Indiana. Located just 12 miles from each other, it is easy to work between both locations. Northwest Indiana is a great locale on Lake Michigan s southern shore with its cities and towns offering a diverse range of lifestyles, with convenient access via train to downtown Chicago.
