Reports To : Associate Dean of Adult and Career Technical Education
Required Qualifications :
- BA degree in education or related field
- Training or endorsements in high school reading, science, and math
- Experience working with non-traditional adults
Preferred Qualifications :
MA in Adult Education or related fieldThree years of teaching, ABE / ASE, teacher certification in math, science, and readingJob Summary :
Teach Adult Basic and Adult Secondary Education classes in math, reading, science, and social studies to prepare students for a high school equivalency certificate exam (GED). Design and implement educational activities to assist students in meeting their goals.
Specific Job Duties :
Use multiple assessment measures to evaluate student learningAttend required in-service activitiesMaintain a plan for continued professional growth and document resultsUtilize departmental syllabus template and approved textbooksSubmit personalized course syllabus to Deans' OfficeDistribute and review comprehensive course syllabus to studentsAdhere to printed course schedule meeting times and locationsObtain prior approval for any substitute teachers or guest speakersMaintain grade book and record student attendanceSubmit accurate and certified Tenth Day Attendance Verification and Mid-Semester Class RosterRespond to e-mails from students, staff, and college administrators in a timely mannerSalary Range : TBD according to Adjunct Faculty Contract
