This Commercial Solar Sales Developer with develop a direct B2B commercial solar sales channel for a top local Solar / EPC firm building out a new commercial division focused on developing retrofit solar and battery storage projects in the Seattle area. This person will lead go-to-market efforts to build customer relationships, generate new sales, and design projects, with support from internal engineering, installation, and project management resources.
Location / Work Model :
- Highly flexible / hybrid : Primarily remote; in-office for occasional meetings; regular local customer visits. Autonomous work with support from company resources.
Key Responsibilities :
Prospect, qualify, and close commercial solar (and battery storage / microgrid) projects directly with businesses (not via contractors).Develop and forecast B2B sales pipeline; deliver concrete revenue projections.Leverage existing network and independently source new business using company resources (marketing, pay-per-click, inbound leads).Analyze energy consumption, design preliminary system layouts (using tools like Energy Toolbase, Helioscope), and produce sales proposals and ballpark pricing.Engage customers throughout the sales cycle : client discovery, needs assessment, presentation, deal negotiation, contract closure.Handover signed projects to project management and installation teams for execution.Attend industry events, network with local associations (e.g., Wasia), and stay informed on grants / incentives.Collaborate with company’s VP and engineering staff for technical support.Build and help shape the commercial direct sales channel for the company, including feedback on optimal compensation / commission frameworks.Requirements :
Proven experience in commercial solar project sales / development (retrofit preferred).Large network of industry relationships and proven ability to generate and close targeted B2B deals.Strong business development and consultative sales skills; entrepreneurial mindset.Familiarity with commercial solar system modeling, proposal tools, and contract negotiation.Comfort with ambiguity and ability to build processes from scratch; demonstrated leadership in launching new sales initiatives.Ability to provide credible sales volume / revenue forecasts and deliver on them.MBA or advanced business / sales training preferred but not required.Please Note : Qualified candidates must possess either US Citizenship or a US Greencard to be considered upon submittal.
