Overview
Technical Writer role at Donatech Corporation. This position creates and revises complex technical documentation to support the marketing, operation, repair, and maintenance of company products. Base pay
$37.00 / hr - $42.35 / hr
Responsibilities
- Create and revise complex technical documentation for company products, including product descriptions, functional descriptions, operating procedures, fault isolation, maintenance and repair procedures, illustrated parts breakdown (IPB), and other technical material.
- Ensure documents meet customer requirements, government specifications, engineering standards, and language usage principles.
- Research and consult with engineering staff to develop and revise documentation; analyze engineering drawings and data to translate into clear materials.
- Assist in validating procedures, evaluate illustrations / graphics, and request / approve new or revised visuals as needed.
- Contribute to project scoping by providing input on time and cost estimates; assist with overall design of technical documentation formats and styles.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and practices; uphold safety objectives and policies.
Qualifications
Working knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, electronics, and system operations to write technical documentation.Proficiency with publication software and XML authoring tools (e.g., Arbortext Epic Editor, Oxygen).MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Access a plus); Adobe Acrobat Professional for PDF markup.Experience with Mechanical / Electrical / Operator technical writing; CMS experience; familiarity with military and commercial standards.Customer interaction skills; ability to work with diverse teams across locations.Understanding of interactive electronic technical manual functionality, markup languages, and development processes preferred.Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus additional related experience (2+ years).Senioritiy level
