Client Care Aide II - Temporary Aide
Colorado Veterans Community Living Center (VCLC) at Fitzsimons is a beautiful 180-bed, skilled nursing facility serving Colorado's veterans. We strive to honor and respect those living in our community through companionship and person-centered care while providing a comfortable and safe place to live. At Fitzsimons, we provide long-term care and short-term rehab and have a secured memory care neighborhood. We are conveniently located on the medical campus with UC Hospital and the Aurora VA Medical Center. Fitzsimons celebrates a low 14% staff turnover rate and substantial longevity among staff.
This is a part-time, temporary position estimated to end on 08 / 01 / 2026. As a Client Care Aide II you can expect to :
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights :
Special Qualification :
Current & active Certified Nurse Aide license renewal required, and be CPR certified, Vaccinations as required by State and facility.
Education / Licensure / Certification / Experience :
High school diploma or General Educational Diploma (GED)
One year of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position
Substitutions :
Current, valid certification as a Nurse Aide (CNA) from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies will substitute for the high school diploma or GED
Current, valid licensure as a Practical Nurse (LPN) from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies or any state participating in the Nurse Licensure Compact will substitute for the experience requirement
Conditions of Employment :
CDHS employees (all Direct contact with vulnerable persons) : CBI name check and fingerprint check, ICON Colorado court database, Medicare fraud database, Reference Checks, Professional License verification (licensure requirements), Drug Screen, PREA (Division of Youth Services), Trails check (direct contact with children), CAPS (direct contact with adults - Mental Health Institutes, Regional Centers, Veterans Community Living Centers)
Shift Work : Days, evenings, nights, weekends, and / or holidays
Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must disclose the information on the application and provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position. Absent extraordinary circumstances, prior disciplinary termination or resignation in lieu of termination will disqualify the applicant from future State employment with CDHS.
