Waste Connections is looking for a safety conscience Heavy Equipment Operator to join our GROWING team in Erie, Colorado.

PAY :

  • $24 per hour. Working 50-55 hours a week. Every hour after 40 is paid overtime.
  • $5,000 STAY ON BONUS
  • This position is eligible for safety bonuses

    • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Spreading and compacting trash using a compactor
  • Spreading daily cover using a Dozer
  • Excavating soil using a excavator
  • Maintaining haul roads using a grader
  • Hauling soil
  • Work in a fast paced, team environment
  • Follow safe operating practices
  • Learn and use interpersonal skills relating to good customer service

    • WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT :

  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 60 pounds.
  • The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and / or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.

    • MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS :

  • Valid drivers license.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
  • 2 years of experience preferred.
