Description
We’re seeking a Project Manager with an entrepreneurial mindset to join a growing Distribution Modernization team in the South-Central region. This role involves managing, directing, and coordinating all aspects of work related to distribution engineering.
The Project Manager will be responsible for project profit and loss, successful completion within specified dates, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders. This role also includes business development responsibilities such as pursuing new clients and expanding service offerings.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage projects from concept to completion, including routing / siting, environmental, permitting, planning, estimating, engineering, right-of-way acquisition, project controls, procurement, construction administration, and closeout.
- Build and maintain client relationships, focusing on repeat business.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients.
- Prepare proposals, assist with presentations, and participate in contract negotiations.
- Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control costs.
- Oversee internal financials, legal coordination, risk and change management.
- Manage all project communications.
- Establish project policies, procedures, controls systems, and execution plans.
- Ensure deliverables meet client expectations and internal QA / QC standards.
- Report regularly on progress, costs, schedules, procurement, safety, environmental concerns, and other project metrics.
- Collaborate with department managers for staffing and support team development through hiring, training, and mentoring.
- Travel to client and project locations as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or a related field (additional experience may substitute for degree).Minimum 7 years of progressive distribution engineering experience, including 3+ years managing engineering projects (Master’s degree may substitute for 1 year).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Experience producing distribution design and construction documents.Familiarity with NESC and other industry codes / standards.Proven success in project management and business development.PE registration preferred.PMP certification preferred.Ability to travel.Valid driver’s license required.Prior consulting experience preferred.
