The Sr. Manager, Strategic Procurement is responsible for leading and developing teams that deliver on regional procurement objectives to optimize quality, on-time delivery, risk, and total cost at Beckman Coulter's North American manufacturing sites. This position reports to the Director, Global Procurement and is part of the Beckman Coulter Diagnostics Strategic Procurement Team located in Chaska, MN and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to : lead, coach and develop teams with strategic procurement ownership for multiple categories of direct material spend across all North American manufacturing sites; coach and develop site-based Strategic Procurement Managers to achieve site, and global, strategic procurement objectives; apply the Danaher Business System to drive measurable improvements in quality, on time delivery, supply chain risk, working capital and total cost; coach and apply advanced negotiation strategies to secure complex regional supplier agreements, using cost modeling, supplier development, and long-term value creation techniques; drive stakeholder engagement and change management across all organizational levels, by integrating risk-based thinking, supplier innovation, and voice of customer into regional procurement strategies; and serve as a member of the Leadership Team tasked with setting direction for the Global Manufacturing Strategic Procurement organization.
The essential requirements of the job include a bachelor's degree in supply chain, finance or engineering; advanced degree or MBA preferred; 10+ years of progressive strategic procurement experience preferably in the global manufacturing, medical device or diagnostics industries; 5+ years leading direct reports; and demonstrated experience leading change and aligning cross-functional stakeholders. Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical / Environment Requirements : if applicable for role, ability to travel domestically and internationally 10 - 25%.
