Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations and assess visual acuity.
  • Diagnose and manage ocular diseases, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy.
  • Prescribe corrective lenses and educate patients on proper eye care techniques.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and technology for effective evaluation and treatment.
  • Provide referrals to specialists when necessary and participate in patient care coordination.
  • Stay current with advancements in optometry and participate in continuing education.
  • Document patient interactions and treatment plans accurately in the medical records.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school.
  • Active license to practice optometry in California.
  • Strong clinical skills and experience in diagnosing and treating ocular conditions.
  • Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team environment.
  • Willingness to engage in professional development and continuing education activities.
