Brooksources Fortune 500 medical device client is looking to hire a Software Engineer. This role is onsite in their Waukesha office (5 days / week). As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in overhauling their medical imaging software platform for MRI scanners, transitioning from a monolithic system to a modern, microservices-based architecture. You will collaborate with a team of engineers to design, develop, and deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing service platform capabilities from concept to deployment. This role will directly contribute to advancing Whole Body Imaging, enhancing Graphics Rendering, and driving AI-powered imaging solutions.
- Key Responsibilities :
- Design, implement, and evolve microservices and platform features that enable the next generation of MRI scanner capabilities.
- Drive the modernization of the platform by decomposing legacy monolithic applications into scalable, cloud-ready services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate advanced features in Whole Body Imaging, Graphics Rendering, and AI-driven imaging solutions.
- Lead research into emerging tools, frameworks, and technologies to maintain a cutting-edge development ecosystem.
- Ensure code quality through best practices, automated testing, and continuous integration.
- Diagnose and optimize application and system performance to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Apply modern software development methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI / CD), and secure development practices.
- Communicate effectively across teams, ensuring alignment on design proposals, technical decisions, and development priorities.
- Required Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a STEM discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 3 6+ years of software development experience.
- Strong Java development experience, with a focus on building scalable applications.
- Hands-on experience developing microservices-based applications.
- Experience with modern web frameworks such as Angular, preferred.
- Proficiency with API-first development and REST principles.
