Engineering Equipment Operator Supervisor

Duties
- Supervises and provides direction and guidance to several Federal Wage Grade employees. Is responsible for a fleet of heavy equipment within the Field. Assists in setting priorities for the Field in work projects.
- Performs multiple personnel management functions pertaining to selection, performance, training, and awards.
- Schedules, coordinates, and budgets work priorities.
- Provides quality control for projects. Ensures projects have been reviewed, an appropriate plan is in place, and documentation is completed including NEPA and appropriate permits.
- Position is expected to have or currently operates heavy equipment and have knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Demands : Heavy physical effort is required for constant climbing in and out of different machines and pushing and pulling levers continuously while the machine is in operation. The incumbent is required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and often puts forth similar effort when pushing, pulling, turning, and positioning parts, assemblies, equipment, and tools.
Work Environment : The operation of large and complicated gasoline or diesel-powered engineering and construction equipment in difficult circumstances increases exposure and risk of injury. The incumbent is frequently exposed to the possibility of receiving cuts, abrasions, bruises, and strains while servicing and operating equipment.
