Position : Physical Therapist Assistant

Schedule : Full-time | MondayFriday, 8 : 00 AM5 : 30 PM

Location : UPMC Muncy 215 East Water Street

Are you passionate about helping others regain strength, mobility, and independence? UPMC is looking for a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our compassionate care team. In this role, you'll work closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver high-quality, personalized treatment that helps patients of all ages thrive.

What You'll Do :

  • Provide hands-on physical therapy treatments based on plans developed by licensed physical therapists.
  • Monitor patient progress and recommend adjustments to treatment plans.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment and assist with clerical tasks.
  • Safely transport patients and ensure a comfortable experience.
  • Supervise therapy volunteers and support staff as needed.
  • Rotate through different treatment areas to support team needs.

Who You'll Work With :

  • Pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • A collaborative team of therapists and healthcare professionals.
  • School and community partners to support patient care and education.

    • Responsibilities Include :

  • Delivering effective, evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Documenting treatments and patient progress accurately and thoroughly.
  • Participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and departmental initiatives.
  • Maintaining productivity standards and contributing to a positive team culture.
  • Communicating clearly with supervisors and team members to ensure safe, high-quality care.

    Qualifications Physical Therapist Assistant

  • Education : Associate's degree from an APTA-accredited PTA program.
  • Certification : CPR (AHA-compliant) within 30 days of hire.
  • Skills :

    • Strong communication and organizational abilities

  • Knowledge of human development across the lifespan
  • Ability to interpret medical records and apply clinical reasoning
  • Problem-solving and strategic thinking
  • Comfortable working with diverse patient populations
  • Professionalism :

    • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills

  • Able to identify growth opportunities and contribute to department goals
  • Participation in professional organizations preferred
  • Must complete all required orientations and competencies
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Physical Therapist Assistant OR Physical Therapist Assistant Indirect Supervision
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
