Responsibilities Position is on a Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting with a maximum capacity of 57 beds Patient population consists of internal medicine cases with a wide range of medical diagnoses Standard day shift, Friday to Sunday block (3x12 hours, 7 : 00 to 19 : 30) Nurse-to-patient ratio averages 1 : 5 days and 1 : 6 nights, with possibility of caring for up to 6 or 7 patients Required to float to MS and MS / Tele units and may serve as Patient Observer (sitter) as needed Room amenities include video monitoring, sitter rooms, ceiling lifts, and bariatric rooms Cerner EMR is used; prior experience preferred but not required Charge nurse and supervisor present on every shift Must work 50% of holidays and weekends that fall within the contract period Not eligible for RTO on holidays but scheduling will accommodate 50% holiday participation First-time travelers are welcome to apply Team supported by a charge nurse and supervisor every shift Modules and orientation completed onsite and annually, as scheduled Locals accepted at a different rate if residing within 75 miles of facility Requirements Active MO or Compact RN license required BLS certification required Minimum of 1.5 years recent Med / Surg experience preferred At least 2 years of total RN experience required, with 1 year in Med / Surg CPI certification preferred; can be completed onsite if pending Ability to float to related units and work as a Patient Observer (sitter) as needed Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-615129.
