Front of House Manager – Monument-National Campus

Reporting to the Director of Operations of the Monument-National Campus, the Front of House Manager plays a key role in delivering an exceptional experience to all visitors. They oversee the coordination of public spaces, ensure the smooth operation of reception and bar services, and manage the staff responsible for these areas. They work in close collaboration with the technical, administrative, and production teams to help ensure the success of every event.

Main Responsibilities

• Event and Front of House Supervision

Ensure a proactive on-site presence during events, including evenings and weekends, based on the event schedule;

Coordinate effectively with front of house, bar, and technical teams;

Ensure all public areas comply with established standards, rules, and protocols;

Participate in coordination meetings to support the smooth and safe delivery of events;

Support Event Managers with operational execution and incident resolution.

In collaboration with the Operations Project Manager, gather tenants' logistical needs (reception, signage, furniture, ticketing, bars, caterers, etc.);

Advise tenants and prepare quotes related to their events;

Provide personalized on-site support upon arrival;

Assist with the setup and strike of spaces used for public reception.

Actively participate in the hiring, training, and supervision of front of house and bar staff (managing a variable number of contract employees depending on the season);

Prepare and distribute staff schedules;

Monitor timesheets, hours worked, and payroll;

Conduct annual employee evaluations.

Oversee cash flow operations : till reconciliation, cash handling security, and revenue tracking;

Maintain up-to-date pricing grids for bar products;

Manage inventory, place orders, and coordinate with suppliers;

Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of front of house equipment.

Propose innovative ideas to enhance the experience for visitors and tenants;

Implement best practices that promote a positive and efficient work environment;

Document procedures to ensure continuity and support ongoing improvement.

Ideal Profile

Relevant experience in team supervision, front of house operations, or event coordination;

Bilingualism (French and English), with strong written and interpersonal communication skills;

Strong customer service orientation, reliability, autonomy, diplomacy, and the ability to work well under pressure;

Natural leadership and proven team mobilization skills;

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, PowerPoint) and the ability to quickly learn new digital tools;

Physical ability to handle moderately heavy items (crates, furniture, supplies);

Experience with budget management is considered an asset.

5 months (temporary position);

Work schedule

35 hours per week;

Flexibility

Variable schedule, including evenings and weekends, depending on event programming.
