Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for night shifts in a Level 1 Trauma setting, requiring at least 2 years of recent OR nursing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in an 18-bed Operating Room of a Level 1 Trauma hospital
  • Handles a wide variety of surgical cases including General, Robotic, Laparoscopic, Trauma, Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, Spinal, Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastics, Burns, Urology, GYN, and Transplant surgeries
  • Night shift schedule is 3x12 hours, working from 18 : 30 to 07 : 00
  • Primary circulating and scrub responsibilities, with a focus on Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, Spine, and General Surgery cases
  • Uses Epic EMR system
  • Responsibilities include providing nursing care during surgical procedures, circulating, scrubbing, and working closely with the surgical team
  • Preferred experience in ENT, GU, Plastics, and Burns cases
  • Must maintain accurate patient records in Epic
  • Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed promptly after contract signing
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
  • Former employees eligible after 6 months away; current employees at Ohio State-affiliated hospitals are ineligible
  • All requested time off must be declared at the time of application
  • Dress code and scrub requirements will be provided during onboarding

    • Requirements

  • Active RN license, either compact or Ohio state, required at time of consideration
  • Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • At least 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience in a Level 1 Trauma center
  • Current BCLS certification required
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Extensive scrub experience in major specialty areas
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or formal leader
