Heavy Equipment Operator

Join Waste Connections as a Heavy Equipment Operator at ourLandfill in Houston, TX. Landfill is located at 4107 S Sam Houston Pkwy W Houston, TX 77053. In this position you will be operating our Dozers, Excavators, Compactor, along with trucks and smaller equipment at our solid waste landfill.

Job Duties :

Spreading and compacting trash using a compactor

Spreading daily cover using a Dozer

Excavating soil using an excavator

Maintaining haul roads using a grader

Hauling soil

Work in a fast paced, team environment

Follow safe operating practices

Learn and use interpersonal skills relating to good customer service

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT :

Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 60 pounds.

The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and / or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.

Requirements :

Valid driver's license.

Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
