job_description.job_card.job_descriptionMonitor facility access; admit only authorized personnel Conduct regular patrols of all buildings and grounds Inspect doors, windows, locks, and fire exits for security risks Monitor package delivery and receipt to deter theft Secure restricted areas and document status in logs Respond to emergency situations and alarms (e.g., Code Red, 777) Apply de-escalation and physical intervention techniques when needed Operate hospital vehicles and assist in transportation as necessary Report safety hazards or incidents to supervisors and logbooks Assist with unlocking secured areas for authorized personnel Participate in required training and professional development Maintain and inspect security equipment Perform other related duties as assigned High School Diploma or GED required Prior security or law enforcement experience is required Healthcare / hospital security experience preferred Valid PA ACT 235 Certification preferred CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or similar de-escalation training required within 30 days of hire Bilingual skills a plus

Starting Pay : $16.40 per hour (Compensation is not negotiable)
The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is a long-standing behavioral health facility in Philadelphia offering inpatient and outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment. Job Overview
The Security Officer plays a key role in ensuring the safety of our facility, staff, patients, and visitors. Under the supervision of the Security Sergeant and Director of Security, this role involves regular patrols, incident response, de-escalation, and maintaining a secure environment aligned with healthcare safety standards and organizational policy.
