Oncology Data Specialist

Supervises daily staff activities for cancer / tumor / oncology data personnel and functions. Oncology Data Specialist Certified

Leads and participates in regulatory survey preparation ensuring survey readiness and provides information and support during surveys. Completes, maintains and submits reports to leadership and governing bodies as required by all regulatory agencies. Stays up-to-date of regulatory changes and provides appropriate communication and guidance to staff and leadership of regulatory compliance and documentation. May collect and assess data to identify quality trends or actual sources of risk to patients and employees. Collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams and committees with respect to quality outcomes. Submits Department reports with goals and objectives for quarterly Cancer Committees.

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required) Registered Nurse Compact License (RN LICENSE COMPACT) - Compact RN Multistate, Registered Nurse License (RN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)

Complexity of Work : Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Proficient in cancer registry software (Metriq preferred) and EHR Platforms (Epic preferred). Required Work Experience : Minimum two (2) years of experience in oncology data management, or cancer registry. Prior participation in accreditation or audit processes. Other Information : Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, Life Sciences, or a related field preferred.
