Book Tower has welcomed a series of new food and beverage concepts to the growing scene in downtown Detroit.

Kamper’s, a 14th-floor rooftop bar with sweeping views of downtown Detroit. The indoor / outdoor cocktail lounge pays homage to its namesake and Book Tower’s original architect, Louis Kamper.

The server is the telecommunication line in the restaurant; their communication style needs to be concise, clear, and courteous. Servers need to be knowledgeable about all aspects of the restaurant and city : food, beverage, service standards, local attractions, entertainment, etc. If they don’t know an appropriate response, they will seek it.

Server Job Responsibilities :

• Greet tables with enthusiasm and a genuine smile welcoming their presence
• Adhere to established service standards and protocols
• Ring in orders timely and correctly
• Offer suggestions for beverage and food, don’t “upsell” but be genuinely invested in their experience
• Check in after courses are dropped within an appropriate timeframe to ensure their satisfaction
• If a guest has a qualm, bring it to the attention of a manager immediately and evaluate how to proceed from there
• Assist bartenders in proper rotation and polishing of glassware, silverware, and other service items
• If you take the last of anything, inform a manager if it needs to be ordered, or replenish it if it is within the restaurant
• Follow proper “manners” protocol when interacting with any guest
• Strong, upbeat and positive personality
• Commitment to high standards with impeccable attention to detail
• Passion for food, beverage and hospitality
• Ability to multi-task in a high volume, fast paced environment
• Team and family-oriented mentality
• Dependability
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry items when needed with a maximum weight of 50lbs
