Philanthropy And Volunteer Coordinator

PACE Southeast Michigan is a mission-oriented organization. As a Philanthropy and Volunteer Coordinator, you will strengthen the ability of our organization to care for older adults and help them remain independent, in their own homes. Under the supervision of the Philanthropy Manager, the Coordinator will work with the Philanthropy and Volunteer departments to grow fundraising resources and volunteer engagement for the organization. The coordinator is responsible for maintaining the donor database, fulfilling community giving requests, the recruitment and coordination of volunteers, and fundraising. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one-year experience coordinating volunteers as well as experience in administration, coordination, fundraising, and community engagement.

Philanthropy

Manage and maintain data accuracy and integrity, enter prospect and donor data including meeting notes, future tasks, gift receipts, and donor acknowledgment in donor database.

Provide administrative support to the philanthropy team including scheduling meetings and center tours for prospective donors, volunteers, and community foundations.

Process, track, and follow up with community giving requests including, ordering of necessary equipment and supplies to carry out requests.

Responsible for ordering, tracking, and maintaining event supplies and community giving needs.

Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising, educational, and grand opening events to build awareness of PACE Southeast Michigan and fulfill the philanthropy goals to assist participants with basic and emergency needs.

Assist with donor stewardship by ensuring timely and accurate gift acknowledgement.

Generate reports from the donor database as needed and work with finance team to reconcile donations and community giving purchases.

In partnership with the philanthropy team secure in-kind donations and sponsorships to raise funds for the Community Giving Fund.

Engage the PACE Southeast Michigan Philanthropy council by scheduling meetings, writing minutes, and conducting donor stewardship of these outstanding community volunteers.

Volunteer Coordination

Assist with the building and managing of a volunteer program. Collaborate with other departments to identify needs and activities for volunteers.

Recruit volunteers through presentations to community organizations large and small groups to inform them of PACE Southeast Michigan's volunteer program and services to expand the volunteer department.

Manage volunteer recruiting websites, including posting and updating volunteer positions and responding to inquiries.

Ensure timely correspondence, keep accurate volunteer records, and assure volunteer requirements are met.

Provide ongoing support and supervision to volunteers, including working with staff to ensure an engaging and positive volunteer experience.

Conduct and coordinate volunteer onboarding, training, and volunteer appreciation and recognition.

Qualifications

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Bachelor's Degree and one-to-three years of fundraising, human resource administration, and or event planning experience preferred.

Minimum one year of volunteer coordination experience required.

Must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Must have excellent interpersonal and follow-through skills.

Proactive problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Web-based email communication system

Ability to learn other software programs, experience with Bloomerang preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Experience developing relationships with community partners.

Some daily travel throughout Southeast Michigan required.

An interest in helping others.
