Overview :

The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications and are accountable to the supervising pharmacist who is legally responsible for the care and safety of the patients served by the pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician follows applicable standards and federal, state & local laws and regulations for the care and safety of the customers and patients served.  The Pharmacy Technician will assist with prompt and compassionate customer service, prescription entry, insurance processing, OTC and RX inventory management, courier and mail processing, refill courtesy calls, and more. Mercy Pharmacy New Ballas is the travel vaccine hub and hospice hub for the East Community.  We work closely with all mercy providers to provide excellent and timely patient care. Qualifications : Tech I :

• Education : High School Diploma or equivalence exam.
• Licensure : Actively registered, in good standing, with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or willing to submit application for registration by first day of work. This includes submitting fingerprints for FBI background check.
• Experience : 1-year relevant pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
• Other : Successfully complete pharmacy department orientation.
• Skills and Abilities :

Demonstrates advanced knowledge and use of all equipment; robotic dispensing equipment and automated dispensing cabinets as appropriate.

Tech II :

Demonstrates advanced knowledge and use of all equipment; robotic dispensing equipment and automated dispensing cabinets as appropriate.
