Overview
Loomis Chaffee School seeks to hire a full-time, 10-month Communication Assistant to join our community. The ideal candidate provides day-to-day operational and administrative support for the director of strategic communications & marketing and the office. This position also provides administrative support for the IT Department and Institutional Research as needed. This position is also responsible for several ongoing internal communications projects and will be encouraged to contribute to Loomis Chaffee’s marketing efforts.
Office of Strategic Communications & Marketing
Responsibilities
- Produce, publish and send the school’s newsletters to internal and external constituencies.
- Manage the content for the digital displays in Scanlan Campus Center and the Admission Office, and other locations as needed.
- Act as the point of contact between the director and internal / external clients.
- Maintain the inventory of office supplies; liaison with IT and vendors regarding the upkeep of office printers and copiers; liaison with Physical Plant regarding office maintenance issues.
- Work with the director to manage the office budget. This includes processing bills and invoices, coding credit card statements, and reviewing (and reconciling as needed) monthly budget reports.
- Work with the director of IT to manage the IT budget. This includes processing bills and invoices, coding credit card statements, and reviewing (and reconciling as needed) monthly budget reports.
- Supervise student workers.
- Provide the director of communications with support for work with the Board of Trustees, including event planning and correspondence.
- Support communications efforts for campus-wide events such as Opening Days / Orientation, Commencement, and Reunion.
- Liaison with third-party photographers for annual student photos and special event coverage; manage contracts and scheduling of photographers.
- Help maintain the digital asset management system (online photo and video library).
- Additional opportunities for communications and marketing projects available based on the candidate’s skill set.
- Other duties as assigned.
